Medical College of Dambovita

Children's Help Net has frequently received requests from physicians for donations of recent medical journals. As an alternative we wanted to provide Internet access to medical professionals. Together with the Andrea Foundation, we opened the first Medical Resource Center at the Medical College of Dambovita in Tirgoviste, Romania in the Fall 2001.

This center provides Internet accees to the latest medical information for 200 physicians and facilitates communication with colleagues both nationally and internationally. Locally 150 family physicians in Dambovita County are also using the computers to mainatain medical records on their patients. The Rotary Club of Tirgoviste shares the same building and is also using the computers for their community-based activities.

We hope to expand this program by working with other medical colleges around the country.

How you can help: Help us expand this program by donating laptop computers, wireless access points, laser printers with network cards, software licenses for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Standard Edition and funds to pay for Internet connect time.
