PROJECTS & PROGRAMS
MOLDOVA
Feeding and providing vitamins and medicine to the children at the
Municipal Orphanage and the Placement and Rehabilitation Center for Young Children in Chisinau
Children's Help Net Foundation purchases food twice a month and medicine
as needed for the 120 children living at the Municipal Orphanage and
as needed for those (~200) living at the Placement and Rehabilitation
Center for Young Children in Chisinau.
This collage of photographs was taken at the Municipal Orphanage in
April 2003. The meal consisted of vegetable soup (top and bottom left)
followed
by
the
main
course
(top
and bottom center) consisting of a baked ground chicken roll, a 3-bean
mash, cold slaw salad and whole grain bread. Since November 2001 children
received a daily multiple vitamin plus an iron supplement if required.
In response to the medical report filed by
Maria Jechiu MD, Orphanage Director in 2003, the children now receive
a more potent
vitamin supplement plus iron.
How you can help: Help us continue
to feed these children by making a donation for the purchase of food,
vitamins and medicine.

Children with their Christmas gifts. |
Every
year Children's Help Net purchases Christmas gifts, food and
candy for a special Christmas celebration at the Municipal
Orphanage in Chisinau. In 2003 we began to do the same for the
Placement
and Rehabilitation Center for Young Children. We also support
the Department of Children's Rights Protection, City of Chisinau
for their program entitled "The Christmas Caravan",
a program that provided 500 gifts for orphans and children
under their care. We also purchase gifts annually in celebration
of
Easter for both orphanages and for the elderly and diabled
persons living at the Old Age Home of Chisinau.
In
2005 we began supporting holiday celebrations at the "CULTUM” Center
For Rehabilitation and Social Integration of Mentally Disabled
Children. Read letters from Ala Fodor in 2005, 2006 and 2007, Executive Director describing
these donations. |
