Children's Help Net is seeking donations to support the lease of a minivan for the safe transport of adoptive families and Andrea Foundation personnel as a result of a serious accident that took place last year.
In August 2000 Mr. Paul Florea was going to Braila with an adoptive family from the city of Braila and was struck head-on by a car coming from the other direction that drifted into his lane. Emergency medical personnel removed Mr. Florea from his car using the Jaws of Life. He required multiple surgeries and has made a miraculous recovery. The adoptive family was also seriously injured but recovered fully. The parents were able to shield their child who was unharmed. Unfortunately the occupants of the other vehicle were not so lucky. The three people in the other vehicle died upon impact. These pictures show what is left of Mr. Florea's car.
All of the founding families of Children's Help Net rode in this car numerous times during our own adoption trips. We would like to lease a Minivan with safety features that meet US safety regulations.
