The mission of the Dreyfus Health Foundation (DHF) is to serve as a catalyst for better health worldwide. "Better health" is defined broadly, as the overall well-being of individuals, families and communities that results in the best possible quality of life for people in a given society. DHF's efforts are focused on innovative and flexible approaches that stress individual and group responsibility, ideas, and action and the optimization of the use of already available resources for health. The Foundation's programs are committed to the principle that communication and collaboration (locally and internationally) can accelerate progress towards better health for all people. DHF works to achieve its mission through partnership with individuals, communities and organizations around the world.
The Children's Help Net Foundation works in collaboration with the Dreyfus Health Foundation's program entitled Problem Solving for Better Health® (PSBH®). The goal of the PSBH® program is to promote and generate action to improve health. This program is based on the belief that answers to health problems can be found locally, by looking within, rather than waiting for solutions from the outside.
Children's Help Net helped to establish the PSBH® program in Romania. Dr. Levine volunteers as a PSBH® workshop facilitator for DHF in Romania and Bulgaria.
Read about PSBH® and Children's Help Net in Romania and Bulgaria in Jan-Feb 2000, Oct-Dec 2001, Oct-Dec 2002 and Sept 2004 issues of Connections, a publication of the Dreyfus Health Foundation.
